Create as many farms and fields as you need.
There is no limit to the number of farms or fields you
can track. Creating a farm is simple. All it requires is an identifier and some basic information such as the owner/landlord, FSA (ASCS) number, and whatever notes you wish to record. |

| Creating a field is just as simple. Enter the field's id, number of crop acres, tillage method, planting practice, and a few other minor details. You can even tell the program whether the field is cash rented, share rented, or owned. Crop insurance and irrigation costs can be input as well. | |||

When it comes to data entry the Crop
& Field Manager is the fastest and the easiest
bar none. The
pick
lists that are available in this program are
phenomenal. You can set up a pick list for just
about anything and everything. Then when it comes
time to input an activity such as chemical applications -
just use the pick lists. You will fly right through
the entry screen.
You are not forced to use the pick lists, but they sure make things simple. A pick list is available for crops, chemicals, fertilizers, application methods, field work, implements, share agreements, elevators, employees, and many more. Included in each pick list are default settings. Take, for instance, the chemical pick list. For each chemical you input into the pick list you can define certain properties or characteristics for that chemical. Unit of measure, rate/acre, EPA number, cost/unit, etc. can be input. Then, when you select that chemical from the pick list the program will fill in the entry screen with the "default settings" you have defined. |
